Technologies transforming the ways of movie making

For a couple of years 3D modelling and 3D printing is widely used in film making industry and for the reason that it allows directors, artists and designers to virtually create anything, movie props, replicas and costumes to name a few. 3D printing service being our major area of expertise we at Custom Prototypes undertook many projects pertaining to motion picture industry. It was until recently that we got an opportunity to apply our CNC skills for the project offered to us by Darby Film Services.

The major part of the project was to automate the movements of the camera by machining a steady hold bracket for camera system. This system is currently being used in the making of Chaos Walking starring Daisy Ridley and Tom Holland by Lions Gate studio. The movie is expected to be in theaters in March 2019!
