Cloudwalker

For years, international tourists passing through Etobicoke had only one question:     “Is this it?”
Tour buses rolled on by, occasionally slowing down just long enough for someone to snap a blurry photo of the architecturally ambitious jail on Horner Avenue. And then—off they went.

But not anymore.

Right between two Starbucks on Evans Avenue, a new landmark has risen — and it’s walking straight into local legend.

Introducing: Cloudwalker.

Cloudwalker

Cloudwalker

A striking 3D-printed sculpture of a young man, mid-step off the edge of a rooftop, eyes locked on his cellphone. It’s bold, it’s colorful, it’s ironic, and it’s entirely fabricated on the largest SLA printer in this part of the world.

Created by internationally recognized digital modeller and sculptor Jung Kyu Im, Cloudwalker is, in his words,

“a reflection on digital distraction in the modern world. Sometimes the next step is the one we forget to look at.”

So next time you’re in Etobicoke — whether you’re a tourist or just lost on your way to the Gardiner — be sure to mark Cloudwalker as a must-see.

Snap a photo. Post it. But maybe… watch your step.
